About Me Meet the Bertoks... This is me and my sweet hubby, Steve. Isn't he dreamy?! ;) The best compliment I've ever received was from a friend who told me I would fit in whether I was wearing a ball gown or my driver's suit. I'm a wife, mom to a rambunctious three year old, designer for a tile company, artist, business owner, and sometime racecar driver. I think that best describes me. :) I have degrees in Public Relations, French, and have completed programs in Interior Design and Art. The past seven years, I worked as a Marketing Director, but got rather burned out on the corporate world. Interests: Art, architecture, photography, design, etc...you get the idea! I also love Road Racing; i.e. SCCA Club Racing, Formula 1, ALMS, etc. My dad is a former SCCA rally driver, and I have raced in the SCCA's Solo 2 and Club Racing series since 1999 and served as a race official countless times. The photo below left is of me at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2000. I made friends with the Panoz racing team of Braselton, GA during registration. After the guys went through inspection and had their team photographs taken, they lifted me over the fence and put me in the car for a quick photo. <swoon!> The photo below right is of Steve (in the Miata) at the 13 Hours Charge of the Headlight Brigade at Virginia International Raceway in 2005. After 13 hours, we placed 4th, just 32 seconds out of second place with the third place car crossing barely ahead of us in the pit lane. I have backed out of driving this year because of my back but still serve as Panic Motorsports' crew chief. MK is our team's chief cheerleader! :) She's learned to not only cheer for Dada but also to help him change tires. You should see a three year old work an impact gun! |
